Lodging for the Tulip Festival


27th Skagit Valley Tulip Festival April 1-April 30

Celebrating spring for over 27 years – the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival annually welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world to enjoy the brilliant hues of spring as hundreds of acres of tulips burst into bloom with a veritable rainbow of colors. The festival runs the entire month of April so visitors to the area can see the wonderful blossoms and take in a few other events and activities, ranging from street fairs and art shows to athletic events, including a tulip bike ride, a tulip run and a 110-team basketball tournament.

The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival truly is a community endeavor – thousands of volunteers help – with festival activities in all the corners of the area. One of the signature events of the festival is the Kiwanis Salmon Barbecue, put on entirely by volunteers for 20+ days during April. There is something for everybody including a Garden Art Fair in Anacortes, a Quilt Show and the PACCAR open house. New this year is a Chili, Chowdah and Chocolate Cookoff in Burlington On April 17.

One of the 2010 featured events is the World Tulip Summit, bringing in tulip fans from across the planet for a 3-day symposium. Featured speakers will include Ciscoe Morris, Bill Miller from Cornell University and Nurhan Atasoy from Turkey. Tickets are available for the summit through April 7, 2010.
